EL DORADO CASITAS ROYALE, Food & Restaurants

BANANA BREEZE VACATIONS review, description and photos of El Dorado Casitas Royale Gourmet All-Inclusive Food, Restaurants & Room Service - Dress Codes and Hours of Operations.

Cuisine and drink quality have always been a high priority at El Dorado Casitas Royale. It's no joke when they flaunt the "gourmet" moniker. Their long time F&B guru has constantly strived to be on the cutting edge and daring to be innovative. In all honesty sometimes that effort has proven too ambitious and they missed the mark with small offerings that were to cutesy. Not today. For the past several years they have really hit their stride in our opinion and the variety of dining options, exquisite tastes and presentations are the proof.

The dress code has been relaxed and simplified. Here is the essence of it.

LADIES: Capri pants, Dresses, Skirts, Long pants, Shoes, Dress Sandals.

GENTLEMEN: Formal Bermuda shorts, Long pants, Collared shirts, Casual shoes or Dress Sandals.

While this seems simple enough let's be clear - they will probably turn you away (rightfully so) if you show up in cut-off shorts, flip flops, tank tops, bathing suits, etc during dinner.

Reservations are never required at El Dorado Casitas Royale but guests here are entitled to make reservations for dinner upon arrival as far ahead as they wish. If you are picky about your dinner time we recommend it.

COCOTAL - International Cuisine

Located on the ground floor of the main lobby Cocotal is air-conditioned. This is your main "get anything" restaurant. They have a wonderful buffet for breakfast with stations for omelets - cooked as you wish, as well as a menu to order from. They have an extensive a la carte menu to order from for dinner.

  • Continental Breakfast: 6:30am-7:00am

  • Buffet & A la carte Breakfast: 7:00am-11:00am

  • A la carte Dinner: 5:30pm-10:00pm

LA ISLA - Mediterranean

La Isla is located by one of the main pools (La Isla) you can't miss the enormous high palapa roof over this open air restaurant. Breakfast is mainly a la carte with a small buffet of sides. Great option to order from a menu for lunch and we suggest the crapes. Dinner is Mediterranean and well done.

  • Breakfast: 7am - 11:30am

  • Lunch: 12:30pm - 3:30pm

  • A la carte Dinner: 6pm - 10pm

D'ITALIA - Contemporary Italian

D'Italia, the original Italian restaurant at El Dorado Royale is on the ground floor of the main lobby. Romantic Italian restaurant with a fabulous menu and (optional) wine list.

  • A la carte Dinner: 6pm - 10pm

KAMPAI - Pacific Rim

We love the Asian ambiance and menu at Kampai, located in the Casita section at El Dorado Casitas Royale. Has a sushi menu and Buddha statue as well as appropriate background music to complete the mood. Extensive menu of Pan Pacific entrees. Kampai is air conditioned, which makes it a tempting choice to beat the heat for lunch.

  • Lunch: 12:30pm - 3:30pm

  • A la carte Dinner: 6pm - 10pm

JO JO'S - Caribbean Seafood Grill

To say Jo Jo's at El Dorado Casitas Royale is a favorite of ours is an understatement. This is our first stop after check-in. This open air restaurant is right by the water and next door to its namesake bar with swings. Eat inside or on a patio closer to the water. Expect to see fresh seafood displayed on ice most days - usually either Snapper or Mahi Mahi, cooked as you prefer. There is also an extensive Gourmet Burger menu, plus ceviche, wraps, salads, calamari, onion rings, and much more.

Heineken is served cold in frosted mugs along with Mexican cerveza, Tequila, Mezcal, Margaritas and any other beverage you desire - with or without alcohol.

  • Lunch: 11am - 6pm

  • Dinner: 6pm - 10pm
