El Dorado Maroma is a high end boutique hotel. You won't find lots of loud crazy games here. There are activities like beach volleyball, aqua aerobics, Salsa lessons, low impact aerobics, seasonal yoga sessions, ping-pong, and water sports available. Don't forget - world famous Maroma Marina Beach is next door for optional, additional activities, including Jet ski, Swim with the Dolphins, parasail, horseback ride on the beach, ATV's in the jungle, catamarans for snorkeling, dive boats, deep sea fishing, etc. Shopping tours to Cancun and Playa del Carmen are available for free with reservation (limited space).
ENTERTAINMENT:
Nightly entertainment programs with live music and the same size and quality of shows as the other El Dorado Resorts.
BEACH:
Maroma Beach has been proclaimed as one of the world's top beaches by the Travel Discovery Channel. El Dorado Maroma sits on that exact beach. While the private marina and beach club are next door, guests of El Dorado Maroma enjoy the same beach without having to pay extra for that privileged. If you elect to participate in any of the optional activities next door you may, for an additional cost.
This is a beautiful white sand beach overlooking absolutely gorgeous shades of blue and turquoise Caribbean Sea. There are palapas beach beds to escape the sun, relax or just lay beside your companion. It would be impossible to miss the two over-water Sky Massage Cabanas, which also serve as a private dinner option during the evening. Four days a week between noon and 2pm, chef's prepare a very special lunch. Wednesday, for example they prepare a huge Taco spread. Thursday is the Fish market. Fresh caught fish arrives by boat. You select the fish of your choice and the chef prepares it right there while you help yourself to all of the side dishes. We enjoyed a complete Red Snapper which was simply amazing, not to mention extremely fresh. Friday is BBQ day under the Palapa. And Saturday is Paella Day, which we had the pleasure to enjoy. We're pretty sure the kitchen sink was not in there, but seemingly everything delicious was.
Beach Butler Service at El Dorado Maroma means you don't have to disturb your chill if you don't want to. They will wait on you hand and foot. Desire a Gourmet Bite, a fresh towel, refreshments (umbrella drink?), a misting to refresh yourself, sun tan lotion? Your Beach Butler will tend to it for you. You can arrange a romantic dinner on the beach for two for an additional cost.
Non-motorized water activities such as kayaks, and snorkeling gear are included. Motorized water activities are available next door for an additional fee
